Bylwansta - ASMR

Having made an impromptu pre-premiere on MTV Base last night, ByLwansta finally arrives at #DateNight (on time, unlike his character in the music video) and releases his long-teased collaborative cut off of his upcoming SPIJØNGET (Chapter Three).

With the R&B-influenced production helmed by the rapper, his choice of collaborators only make sense as each artist slides melodically as they each express their sensual sides over soft synth pads and a pulsing bassline. Inspired by the ASMR phenomenon and it’s often inescapable sexual undertone, ByLwansta introduces “ASMR” - a sensual and sexually charged R&B influenced hip hop song.

The song features up-and-coming singer-songwriter Alisha Rosa, alternative R&B crooner Some.Unique.Individual & genre-bending, melodic lyricist, Rāms. Its R&B-influenced composition & production set a sensual mood, lead by a pulsing synth bass, layered over an 808 and a soft synth pad.

The "ASMR" music video is directed by William T. Khentwa.

Youngstacpt - New Takkies

"My song ‘Takkies’ which was originally released in 2016 told a story of what rare sneakers mean to the lower income community of Cape Town. It also detailed the dangers of having these sneakers on in certain parts of Town as well as my personal accounts of buying, selling, swapping, losing and fighting for my shoes. In this installment of the song, ‘New Takkies’ explores the growth of a person who has realized life is worth more than a pair of shoes. This is like the rebirth of what it feels like to have your shoes stolen or robbed and then be reimbursed with a new pair. It’s a moment that doesn’t often occur but when it does it’s sweet.

‘New Takkies’ is produced by Kay Faith and has an almost haunting backdrop quite similar to the 2016 instrumental produced by Loopsta from Hillbrow. ‘New Takkies’ explores our need to look fresh despite the circumstances & situations we come from, and to always rise to the occasion no matter how many times our Takkies get taken." - YoungstaCPT.

'Yesssir' sees Yung Tyran trading verses with Die Mondez on a Jonn The Producer production. The song is an affirmation of the lyrical prowess we’ve become accustomed to on a Yung Tyran hip hop track. Thanks to the Die Mondez opening verse Yung Tyran builds on that smooth flow and takes the track into a higher gear as he raps like his life depends on it.
