The day has arrived, and the fan favourite single, 'Hustlers Prayer' featuring A-Reece, taken off his debut album 'Pheli Makaveli' finally has a visual representation to it. Having to debut on MTV Base yesterday, the trap producer and musical artist 25K shares the official music video with the public. The song 'Hustlers Prayer' is a self-reflecting single that 25K speaks on, about his past life in the trap and being in the streets. A-Reece lends his talent on the single as he contributes with a real life story that has touched many listeners/fans because of the relatability of the subject on losing a loved one/ family member.
"I told my mama I'm runnin' my race
She told me to focus, "I love you lil' nigga"
This is one of the few opening lines to the song and is also the chorus of the song, where 25K entails that he's leaving his street life to focus on the music - running his own race, and his mom giving him the blessing to pursue it, since she never liked the idea of her son being on the streets [gangster life] because the chances of survival are minimum.
25K continues to prove his loyalty to his nigga's, that he would do anything for them, and that includes taking a bullet for them... Not many like him, and if you are fortunate enough to have such people around you and in your corner, you should cherish them and every moment you have with them.
This verse is just 25K reflecting on how difficult this year has been financially and personally (losing loved ones) in these strange times we are now in.
A-Reece gets his supporters/fans emotional with the opening lines of his verse speaking of his late father and how he was unable to visit him because hospitals have restricted visitors due to covid-19 patients and to reduce the spread. A-Reece is filled with anger and sadness as he never got the chance to say goodbye to his father before he departed from earth and elevated to his maker.
Now, with the lyrics decoded, the visual representation of 'Hustlers Prayer' takes place in a cemetery, where both 25K and A-Reece pay their final respect. The video goes hand in hand with the song but, what we soon realize is that 25K is actually attending his own funeral and then gets shot outside the cemetery, right after attending it.
The concept of 25K having a nightmare of pulling up on himself and then attending his own funeral that is seen at the end of the video is so profound because of the content piece on the lyrics have been given life [excuse the pun].
"I'm havin' nightmares of enemies pullin' up on me, don't try me I'll smoke you my nigga"
