Eastern Cape-born rapper StaticFlo is finally dropping a debut album titled ‘Flight31’.
“When you think of flight you think of flying by plane, reaching your destination. So, bringing it back to me, it’s all about freedom, zero limits, reaching a destination, a journey. So, we take flight to reach a destination. It’s a 13-track album which tells a story,” says StaticFlo.
“The ’31’ represents the age in which I completed this album; my journey so far, I’ve dedicated a decade into music. 13 tracks because if you reverse the 31, it becomes 13.”
StaticFlo last released a project in 2020 with the EP, ‘Iphupha’. The project came with the single ‘I See The Light’ which featured PDotO and Bencco. For ‘Flight 31’, she retains Bencco as her main producer and adds a few other producers in the mix.
“I’ve featured amazing artists too,” she says. “I went the route of if it’s not organic, we going to leave it, hence there’s less features and more StaticFlo.”
‘Flight 31’ by StaticFlo is out on Friday. Pre-add/pre-save the album HERE.
