By @AtlehangMoloi on 01/31/2024 in Watch

Maglera Doe Boy has just released cinematic visuals for his singles, ‘The Running Of The Bulls' featuring 25K and 'Dor Do Povo’ featuring Ason. The singles come off of his debut album, 2022's 'Diaspora'.

Maglera Doe Boy, who is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the modern SA Hip-Hop scene, has been described as a breath of fresh air on the circuit due to his creative and innovative approach to his art. In ‘The Running Of The Bulls/Dor Do Povo’, he takes his concepts to new heights a she lets the story behind the song unfold as a two-part short film.

The scenic region of Macaneta in Mozambique plays as the backdrop for the visual story. The video begins with alternating cuts between countryside and city backgrounds during the first half of the 8-minute track, The Running Of The Bulls. Those landscapes are swapped for coastlines and hood settings in the second act, Dor Do Povo as both the scenery and cadence switch up. The meaning (“pain of the people” in Portuguese)of the second title hits particularly hard as he raps about the struggles of Africans in poverty.
