South African vocalist and Amapiano star, Daliwonga has released his second album titled ‘DALI DALI’. The album marks the hitmaker’s return since the release of 'Chameleon' in 2020.
This Amapiano album is made up a variety of sounds including Afro-soul, private school Amapiano and Isgubhu.
“This is an Amapiano album but I wanted to also prove to the people that I can do this and that, that’s why there’s 2 tracks that are Afrobeats on the album,” says Daliwonga.
During the album’s listening session at Artistry, Daliwonga expressed that the album’s title represents both him and his twin brother Dalindyebo Matiwane, hence the double delight title, ‘DALI DALI’.
“This came as a nickname at first, then when I decided to have an album and name it ‘DALI DALI’, I just thought it’s going to have more meaning to it.”
The project is also divided into two parts, and the first part of it is dedicated to his twin who is more “calm than me and that’s the first part of the project”. The first half is made up mellow love songs while the second part shows Daliwonga’s groovist side.
“The other part represents me, who is more outgoing. So that’s him and that’s me,” Daliwonga said.
The album features the who’s who of Amapiano such as Nkosazana Daughter, Mas Musiq, Kabza De Small, Shasha, Tyler ICU, DJ Maphorisa and a whole lot more.
