Daliwonga & Mas Musiq Drop Long-Awaited EP ‘BAS’THOLILE’

By @AtlehangMoloi on 05/28/2025 in Projects You Should Hear

After years of fan demand, countless hits, and near-mythical studio sessions—including lost music from Mas Musiq’s infamous laptop crash—two of Amapiano’s most influential stars, Mas Musiq and Daliwonga, have finally been caught in the act. The dynamic duo has finally released their highly anticipated joint EP, BAS’THOLILE, a 7-track masterpiece.

The title BAS’THOLILE—translating to "They’ve Found Us!"—captures the essence of this moment: a dream collaboration that fans have been pleading for, now realized. The project follows their previous chart-topping collaborations ("10 Kilometres", "Gangnam Style") and delivers on the promise of their undeniable chemistry — Daliwonga’s sultry vocals melting into Mas Musiq’s soulful, street-ready production.

The EP’s focus track, "Nonchalant", is a raw anthem for every hustler who’s been burned by love. Daliwonga’s lyrics paint a vivid picture of a heartbroken young man drowning his sorrows before waking up to reality: women might want your money, not your heart. With gritty honesty, the song warns against blind love—“listen to your parents, focus on your grind”—while Mas Musiq’s production wraps the message in a hypnotic, head-nodding groove.

But just as fans absorb "Nonchalant’s" lessons, they’re hit with "Woza"—a runaway single that exploded on social media the moment the EP dropped. Already trending and dubbed an instant hit by fans, "Woza" contrasts the introspection of "Nonchalant" with an irrepressible energy, proving once again that Mas Musiq and Daliwonga can’t miss.

Two sides of the same coin: one for the thinkers, one for the dancers—both undeniable. Social media is already ablaze with reactions, as fans celebrate the duo finally answering the country’s plea for more quality Amapiano music.

Beyond the music, the EP showcases a new, playful side of the typically reserved Mas Musiq, a shift credited to Daliwonga’s magnetic presence; and every detail of this project reinforces their status as Amapiano’s most dynamic duo.
