The official visualiser for the intro to ‘Mass Country’, ‘Last Time’, has been released.
The monochromatic visuals show AKA standing under a spotlight, just like in the last set of photos he took a few days before his passing.
In the song, AKA describes his journey as “spiritual” and quotes the late Riky Rick by rapping, “This journey is spiritual but don’t forget the bread/ Remember what Makhado said, just take care of the kids.”
He name-drops the likes of Johnny Clegg, Khuli Chana, Zahara, Tuks Senganga, Rhythmic Elements, Mi Casa, Jabba, Amu, Teargas, Skwatta Kamp and Mr Selwyn.
AKA expresses his deepest gratitude to the higher power and touches on having to redefine himself musically after all the obstacles he had faced.
“The prodigal son returns, my ego in ashes/ Had to come down to earth and read a few chapters/ Genesis, Mathew, built my own statue/ I was movin' too fast,” he raps.
