Gemma Fassie returns with yet another stunning cover for 'Asibe Happy' by DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and Ami Faku. The performance was shot by Ally Benaire in the heart of Newtown at AMPD Studios. The cover is layered by a very soothing piano instrumental as it guides her stunning vocals with the rhythm of the song. She really chose the perfect song to cover as I was emotionally touched to a point where I just held back the tears of joy as the harmonies and melodies she used will just move you.
The cover follows her being picked as part of our list of '10 RnB artists that you must look out for' this year as well as Bongani Fassie reposting her cover on Twitter leading to her trending and becoming the talk of the twitter streets as many were more than awed by the talent.
This was a very beautiful rendition of the hit single 'Asibe Happy' and I cannot wait to hear more work from her this year as she has a very beautiful voice and without a doubt will touch the hearts of many with it.
