@ShooterKhumz Finally Releases His Debut EP 'I Was Overthinking This'

Shooterkhumz finally released his debut project 'I Was Overthinking This' of which features the likes of Die Mondez, Priddy Ugly, Lordkez and Zulumecca. The 8 track rap project features a play of a variety of sounds and you would probably think to would be 'Boom-bap rap' based on the recent sound that Stay Low has been chasing for but nothing like that. If there is anything, I find the debut project as futuristic as each song showcases various sides of Rap and without a doubt showcases to us the capabilities of Shooter Khumz as this is a very well packaged project.

I love how the storytelling is very aligned as a variety of messages are thrown at us granting us an opportunity to get to know the producer and the artists. The project is so well structured as you get the transitions in certain songs like my top favourite, 'God's Incense' as it addresses the 'power of prayer' and understanding that nothing is impossible as we are a symbol/representation of what has already happened and with that being said, 'Angels will be protecting us' from all types of battles. I love how Zulu Mecca closed off her verse along with the song. 

You are bound to be taken on an amazing musical adventure with this project as it speaks in numerous volumes of messages that best resonates with every human to ever exist in an internal extent. For example, 'who can define freedom without referring of all challenges that mentally hold us back'. Can we essentially say that we are free if we live in a system that's inclined to exploit us from our talent to our knowledge. This is one thing I got from the single, 'Shackles' as it further describes how we as humans can simply be boxed by the things we rely on to survive and even the people around us so never be afraid to let go of 'dead weight' or rather things that are holding you back from you experiencing life at it's fullest.

The art to living a very well balanced life is to simply try to see the world from an unsupported view such as doing things that are deemed as weird but yet creative from adapting well to changing and finding what your core around life is. This is the message I extracted from the single 'Harvey's Prayer' as he finds his own substance to deal with the 'devil within our minds' as we all do have it and everyday is just another battle against ourselves although it is covered out by the surface level things such as objectified views to happiness.

Can we essentially say that 'Overthinking' is part of a healthy way to finding yourself, perhaps it maybe or perhaps it may not be but I guess you can decide at the end as it is essentially your path.

The other song that blew my mind is 'Facade' as everyday is simply a reboot of what yesterday couldn't be and in this saying, the message is simply we praise people or give people their flowers based on what they show us and at times what they show us is just an illusion to what they wish their world should be like and this affects numerous of individuals as they get inspired by non-existent things and this puts unnecessary pressure on the youth of today and other individuals that look up to you. This at times leads us to question a lot about the reality we currently live in and if whether all that's around us is real or not and that is why prioritising the internal things is better than chasing for things that can vanish the next day or get taken away from you within the spick of a day and this is the materialistic things as they are not all when they devalue with a price of happiness and I referring to you no longer being happen but rather your emotional and mental wellbeing deteriorating and this at times kills one 10 times more than they know. Like feeling lost in a world that requires for to seek for validation in none valuable relationships and things. Now will it all be worth it in the end is the question left in mind by 'Shooterkhumz' debut project.
