Every now and again I take a gamble on the music that someone shares on social media. Most times the music isn't all that good but sometimes you get lucky and find yourself something like Iris. I couldn't quite put my finger on the feel of the EP upon my first couple of listens but I knew I was definitely hooked by the vibe it brings. You can tell that Steveisfrench is a producer who has the ability to make a variety of genres and his interpretation of alternative hip hop is a weird mix of instruments paired with a bounce that hip hop listeners will be familiar with. The production that he went for on the EP brought out a side of Solo Sae that I quite enjoy. He closes the EP off with 'Lens' which is a dance track and it really points to the versatility he has as a producer and I can't wait to hear more of what he has to offer. Stream 'Iris' below
