Digital Sangoma's music has a special place in my heart because it's the only music that my mom and I have been able to enjoy together. It's like our new discovery but I think I will have to come up with a better way to describe this EP because all my mom said was "yaah, now this is nice Kamo".
Digital Sangoma's Recall EP was a very interesting listen. It felt like a cleansing of the pallet and his music kind of feels pure. His music has a lot of African influences and serves as the root for his sound. He doesn't deviate too much from what makes him unique. He makes what is called African Dance Music. What I really enjoy most about the EP is its atmospheric sound. You're immediately transported into a new world with all of the chants in the background and his 'African vocal delivery'. His sound is distinctly capturing and it feels weird, in a good way, to be listening to real instruments for the entirety of an EP. If you keep up Digital Sangoma on IG, you'll know about his dance moves and honestly, if I saw him perform live, I would do the exact same thing. The EP feels so connected that I struggle to pick a favourite or gravitate to one song, it's like once you're in, you're in! The EP feels like a river because it just flows together so seamlessly that it's honestly tough to tell when one song ends and another one begins. If you ever wanted an introduction to African Dance Music then this is a great place to start.
