Ahead of the Miller Music Drop invite-only party at the end of the month, I got to hang out with new wave leader, Flame. The artist whose real name is Lesego Mnyandu is a charismatic kid who revealed that he didn’t know much about the famed 1992 horror film, Candyman, before he made it the title of his debut album.
Released in 2019, CandyMan - the album - is a 19-track offering that sees Flame mostly muse about being young, lit and unbothered by the opposite sex. But there are some moments on the album that find him sharing a lot more about his real life than ever before. On the premiere episode of the Miller Music Drop miniviews, Flame unpacks some of his lyrics. Amongst other things, the former The Wrecking Crew member shares that he finally bought his mother a home and tells me all about the success he’s had, despite being a high school dropout.
Flame will share the stage with the likes of Zoocci Coke Dope, Nikki Newlands, Ms Cosmo as well as American rapper, Lil Yachty and more at Miller Music Drop. The exclusive party will take place on November 30 and the only way you score an invite is by entering the competition. Visit Miller Genuine Draft for details.
