@MsCosmoSA, @DJVigilanteSA, @scoopmakhathini & DJ Speedsta Comment On The State Of Hip-Hop's New School On #POPcast

By @MisaNarrates on 07/10/2019 in Watch

The POPcast is slowly becoming a highly favoured series among its viewers, ourselves included. In the fifth part of episode two, the hosts of the show comment on the rappers of the new school. Examples of some of these rappers include Shane Eagle, Nasty C, and A-Reece. However the conversation doesn't centre around each of them specifically, but more so the work that goes into making them superstars.

While viewers may not agree with every aspect of what is said, the hosts all raise valid points. In my personal capacity, I've often ranted about how a lack of good management and discipline when trying to make our way in music can be to the detriment of the overall success of an upcoming musician. In this episode, the hosts not only reinforce this idea but go the extra mile by dropping a few lessons here and there without coming across as preachy. In fact, this may double as the overarching lesson of this segment, that an artist's success is in the excellent execution of administrative minutiae, such as answering phone calls and submitting projects for consideration to all relevant parties among other things.
