When you look at markets overseas, it is easy to forget the social significance of certain career moments. Think back to the 2018 Global Citizen Festival where South African artists occupied the same stage one of the world's greatest and active entertainers. That was huge! One of the artists on that stage is a walking ode to her culture, and that would be none other than Sho Madjozi.
The Tsonga rappers presence in certain spaces is enough to communicate her message, without her having to verbally communicate anything at all. Seeing a girl in an outspoken and successful black girl in a xibelani is a moment for Tsonga girls to be represented in our arts and entertainment industry. Think back to the moment when a 4 year old fan of the "Huku" musician requested a xibelani of her own after seeing Sho Madjozi confidently wear the same thing.
This time around, Sho Madjozi is sharing her experience of going home and celebrating her success with her hometown. Initially, the Limpopo Champions League leader commented that she intended to rest when she got home. However, it was the pull to host her peers and celebrate their collective excellence that motivated the festivities she shares in a mini-documentary style video.
Take a look at what happens when Sho Madjozi hosts a party back home!
