A Youngsta CPT set wouldn’t be complete without a freestyle, and he delivered exactly that on Saturday at Cotton Fest. Rhythm and poetry is the expanded version of the word “rap.” While it can be hard to find the two elements in a number of hip-hop musicians, there is elaborate prose to Youngsta CPT’s flow. For those who regularly attend shows where Youngsta performs, it is fair to call his freestyle customary. At this point, did the Cape Town rapper *actually* perform if there was not a single freestyle in earshot?
Generally, Youngsta instructs his audience to raise something in the air to give him inspiration. He then proceeds to include the various items raised into a freestyle. Festival-goers at Cotton Fest got to experience this first hand.
