After 2 Years, Gangular (EP) Is @u_Sanele Latest Musical Offering

By @MisaNarrates on 01/15/2019 in Projects You Should Hear

After the release of his single and music video “Amabhodlela,” it looked like uSanele would be able to stretch his “15 minutes” into a break out moment. Since then, however, fans have wondered where the Boyz N’ Bucks co-founder has been for the past two years.

On Friday, January 11th, uSanele came back to the scene with a surprise EP, Gangular. Now available on all streaming platforms, the EP features guest verses from Bongeziwe Mabandla, 45 Degrees (aka Didi Monsta), Windows 2000 (aka Nokana Mojapelo), Stilo Magolide, Efelow, and Thelawayeka. The music man describes his project as an ode to his hometown, “Dubane” (Durban). Listeners will note the influences of genres of music most associated with Durban like gqom, isicathamiya, and maskandi. Additionally, genres that influenced uSanele’s youth include kwaito, dance, and hip-hop, for which reason Gangular offers a fair representation of each genre.

The four track EP only wets the appetite of uSanele’s fans; giving one motive to say that all eyes should be on uSanele in 2019.
