Who remembers when this scorcher dropped some 7 years ago when SA hip hop was still bubbling into the dominant genre it has become right now? A team of producers going by the name Blackstorm were responsible for many a banger, including L-Tido's classic hit, We Rolling, and they also gifted us with 20 Past 10 by the late, Linda "PRO" Mkhize. 

The story about how this song came to be is actually something for the books. Blackstorm had approached PRO two years prior to work with him but the icon had given the team some pointers to improve their sound quality and when they hit him back up years later with this same song, he was sold. With 2010 having been a big year for South Africa, and with PRO getting ready to drop Continua, this tune was something of perfect timing when it came out. I recall a time at 5FM with DJ C-Live on the Hip Hop Power Nights when this song was dropped (somewhere in 2011). Word is, 20 Past 10 was meant to be a lead single but never quite made it onto Continua after all. Guess what? It still bangs! When I saw the song title and also clicked play, memories came flooding in as the beat took me back to those days when we used to look forward to Monday nights.
