This past weekend saw the BET Awards happen in Los Angeles and the best of the best in the entertainment world took to the stage to celebrate black excellence. One of the most notable and interesting performances on the night had to be J. Cole's performance for Friends.
The rapper took to stage with Wale as well as Daniel Caesar. Wale sat in a lighted room above the stage whilst Daniel was on the mic singing the chorus lyrics to the song, with the words "choose wisely" in the background. J. Cole wore a t-shirt written, "You have the right to remain silent" highlighting the issue of police brutality. Kids dressed in all white show up and meditate towards the end of the performance before they start dancing as he offers his solution to drug abuse. Check it out.
