The great debate of pleasing the streets versus appealing to the masses via circular channels is never ending, and it did not start with our generation of musicians by the way. Many a career rely on popularity and recognition to elevate. Think about it, how do artists become in demand pulling crowds to events thus getting many bookings? It's all in their reach. How will artists grow a wider reach if they are hellbent on making music "for the streets" and not a wider array of people? AHA! GOT YOU!
