The musical lion, ShabZi Madallion, is back with yet another sermon titled Things I Should've Said Last Year where he doesn't hold back with the truths of his heart. He's repping for his dope crew as well as team "don't sign contracts" on this one.
The short piece finds ShabZi in his usual cunning cheeky talk but this time around he's sounding quite laid back compared to a few of his other tracks. He reflects on carving a legacy for oneself in this brutal industry which lacks depth. He's not in it for the fame nor the praises, he just wants to get this music out (a mission he never sleeps on). You can immediately tell that ShabZi is well aware of the often fraud workings of the music game from the fake emcees right down to the girls who are attracted to your potential to be famous as opposed to you. The best part about it though, is that he insists on keeping it real despite how "costly" that may be. A true heart of a lion! MC Lyte said, "keep on keeping on," so you know there's no stopping the rhythm-and-poetry championship league games boy! Say what you gotta say ShabZi.
