In the second part of Views From The Bottom Up tackling black entrepreneurship hurdles with DJ Sbu, Wandi Nzimande and Slikour, we discuss the issue of bad money habits amongst black people. Scoop Makhathini asks what the seed of a business are and these businessmen reiterate the fact that you need to use what you have to your disposal when you start out because getting finance as a black businessman is very difficult.
Wandi says, "If you're born poor, that's not your fault. But if you die poor, that's your fault." Some of the points made in this episode are facts that we live and know but we continue to ignore due to misguided ideas of what success is leading us to spend over what we can afford instead of practising sound financial control. Inde lendlela but we are more than capable if we look within "self" for new answers, inspiration and ways to innovate with the natural gifts that we have. We are honoured with this reminder of the journey of the black entrepreneur but most importantly that it is possible despite all the challenges.
