Wurld Unveils New EP, “Metal Hearts”

Wurld has released his new EP Metal Hearts, an eight-track exploration of love, vulnerability and resilience that dropped on 11/11. The Nigerian singer, who’s known for his lush blend of Afrosoul and electronic pop, leans deeper into experimental territory in the new project, wrapping his trademark tenderness in sleek, metallic production.

The sound is cooler and more atmospheric than his previous work, built around synths and minimalist percussion that mirror the EP’s emotional themes: strength colliding with fragility, desire tempered by distance.

Metal Hearts carries echoes of that early-2010s crossover moment when R&B singers started flirting with electronic production. 

However, Wurld’s approach is subtler. Where the 2010s era was all about radio-friendly euphoria, Metal Hearts feels like its grown-up cousin, it’s moodier, more introspective, built for headphones rather than bottle service. But the DNA is indeed similar, its R&B vocals meeting digital textures. But, instead of the sugar rush of EDM drops, Wurld goes for atmosphere and emotional tension.
