Usimamane has shared insight into the creation of the opening track on his latest EP, G-Wagon Music: Baby Tai, titled Tai Lung’s Pain. In a recent conversation, he reflected on a particularly emotional moment involving fellow artist Tony Dayimane, which brought the weight of the song into sharp focus.
Usimamane explained that the reality of the track truly sank in when Tony Dayimane, who had already learned the lyrics, reacted emotionally upon hearing it. Speaking about the experience, Usimamane said: “Niga already knew the lyrics and seeing him sad about it made me go back home and listen to the lyrics, not gonna lie bro I cried.”* The moment highlighted the depth of the song’s content and the personal impact it carries for listeners and fellow artists alike.
In the post shared on Instagram, he wrote: “Tai Leezy’s Pain, song 1 on the new project, funny enough when I made this song I was in Cape Town for a week. Like I was so happy, not sad at all. The following week we went to Swatini, this nigga already knew the lyrics and seeing him sad about it made me go back home and listen to the lyrics, not gonna lie bro I cried.”
Tai Lung’s Pain serves as the opening track of G-Wagon Music: Baby Tai, setting the tone for the EP with its introspective lyrics and emotional resonance. The project as a whole explores a range of personal and reflective themes, blending Usimamane’s signature sound with lyrical storytelling that gives listeners a window into his experiences and artistic perspective. Each track builds on the previous, creating a cohesive narrative throughout the EP.
The emotional response from Tony Dayimane underscores the track’s relatability and ability to connect with listeners on a deeper level. Usimamane’s openness about his own emotional reaction provides additional insight into the creative process, illustrating the ways in which artists process and respond to their own work as well as that of their peers.
