Tony Dayimane has outlined the next phase of his release schedule, confirming that a joint album with Usimamane will follow his upcoming EP, Girls & MP3’s. The update was shared during a recent interaction with fans on Facebook, where Dayimane was providing information about his near-term music plans.
The announcement came as Dayimane revealed that a music video for his track “9 Missed Calls” is set to drop soon. While addressing the video release, he also confirmed that Girls & MP3’s will be released on 13 February. The EP has been anticipated by listeners following his recent run of singles and collaborations, and the confirmation of a specific release date marked a key update for fans tracking his output.
During the Facebook exchange, one user commented on the announcement, writing, “We need album not EP.” The comment prompted a direct response from Dayimane, who acknowledged the request and used the opportunity to clarify the order of his upcoming projects. Responding in isiZulu, he wrote, “ngiyakuzwa,” which translates to “I hear you,” before outlining a structured release plan.
In his reply, Dayimane listed three projects in sequence. According to his post, the first release will be Girls & MP3’s, an EP scheduled for 13 February. The second project will be a joint album with fellow rapper Usimamane. The third release, as stated by Dayimane, will be his sophomore album, which will follow after the collaborative project.

Tony Dayimane and Usimamane are both Durban-born rappers who have collaborated multiple times before this planned joint album. Their history of working together stretches back several years, beginning with the early track “iFilimu,” which brought their names together on a shared release as far back as 2023. They’ve also teamed up on songs such as “Dilikiyane,” which appeared on Dayimane’s Big Boy II project, and have featured together on other artists’ releases, illustrating a creative partnership that predates the formal announcement of a full-length joint project. Their collaborations reflect a shared regional identity rooted in Durban’s hip-hop scene and an ongoing artistic rapport that has developed as both artists’ careers have grown.
The confirmation of a joint album with Usimamane adds to ongoing interest in collaborations within the current hip-hop landscape. Both artists have built distinct audiences, and the announcement signals a formal, full-length collaboration rather than isolated joint tracks. While no release date or additional details for the joint album were shared, Dayimane’s comment establishes it as the next major project after the EP.
By laying out the sequence publicly, Dayimane provided clarity on how his upcoming releases are planned, addressing fan expectations around albums and longer-form projects. The response also indicated that the EP is part of a broader rollout rather than a standalone release.
As of now, Girls & MP3’s remains the immediate focus, with the EP and the “9 Missed Calls” music video expected to arrive first. Further information regarding the joint album with Usimamane and Dayimane’s sophomore album is yet to be announced.
