Skillz Release Powerful EP ‘Phumelela’, A Celebration Of Success, Resilience And Triumph

South African DJ and Producer Zwakele Mdletshe known as DJ Skillz, has released his new EP titled Phumelela. The six-track body of work showcases DJ Skillz’s signature sound, elevated by world-class collaborations and an inspiring message rooted in resilience and victory.

The project’s leading single, Phumelela, features award winning Afro soul vocalist Simmy and rising Amapiano vocalist Zeh McGeba. Together, they deliver a soul-stirring, uplifting anthem that encapsulates the EP’s core message of triumph and perseverance.

One of the tracks on the EP, Isgubhu is a heartfelt tribute to the late Mandla Mampintsha Maphumulo of Big Nuz and friend of DJ Skillz. Known for his vibrant energy, dance moves and iconic statement, “Ungasa’gundi ke baba, aw wenz’udoti eDurban eJoburg”, a statement that has become a staple in DJ Skillz music.
