Paradise Sound System celebrates a major milestone with its 100th catalogue release, Flight Mode (Âme Remix), a collaboration that reflects the label’s ongoing mission to build bridges between Africa and the world.

At the centre of this release is Busiswa, a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and performer whose voice has defined a generation of African music. From her breakout hits Midnight Starring and My Power (with Beyoncé on The Lion King: The Gift), to her countless collaborations and genre-bending solo work, Busiswa continues to push boundaries through creativity and authenticity.
Flight Mode originally appeared on Busiswa’s Honey & Grace EP, recorded between Berlin and Johannesburg in collaboration with producers BERNT and Let Me You. The project represents a bold fusion of amapiano, house, electronic dance, and R&B influences, showcasing her versatility and international reach.
It was in Berlin, ahead of her debut showcase at Reeperbahn Festival, that Busiswa first connected with Âme, the German electronic duo behind Innervisions and enduring house anthems such as Rej and Where We At. That meeting sparked a creative exchange between South Africa and Germany, ultimately leading to this reimagination of Flight Mode.
For this landmark release, Âme transform the original into a hypnotic and emotive house journey. Ethereal synths, pulsating rhythms, and Busiswa’s unmistakable vocals merge to create a seamless dialogue between Berlin and Johannesburg’s dancefloors.
“This remix is about freedom, movement, and connection,” says Busiswa.
“It’s a global conversation. Âme carried Flight Mode into new spaces while
keeping its spirit alive.”
Since its inception, Paradise Sound System has established itself as a leading platform for cross-continental creativity, blending diverse sounds and cultures through each release. From summer house anthems to R&B sensation Marcus Harvey’s debut album, the label continues to shape a global narrative driven by collaboration, innovation, and artistic freedom.
The release arrives just ahead of Gigi Lamayne premiering her 3-Step project at Amsterdam Dance Event and follows Money Badoo’s acclaimed showcase at Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg. These milestones underscore Paradise Sound System’s commitment to taking African talent offshore, creating pathways for collaboration, and developing artists on global stages.
One hundred releases in, Paradise Sound System continues to evolve as a bridge between continents, connecting artists, audiences, and worlds through sound.
