Danya Devs has officially released his second solo EP titled Otherwise, uRight today, marking another milestone in his individual music career. The project arrives with a total of four tracks and includes features from artists such as Mawelele and Nomfundoh Moh, among others.
The EP follows Danya Devs’ first solo effort, 1 Million, which was released in August. Like his debut, Otherwise, uRight also contains four songs, continuing the artist’s trend of compact and focused releases. The new project expands his solo catalog while maintaining the collaborative energy that has characterized much of his music, both within and outside his work with Blaq Diamond.
Danya Devs remains an active member of the Afro-pop duo Blaq Diamond, alongside fellow artist Ndu Browns. The pair rose to prominence in the South African music scene with a unique sound that blends elements of Afro-pop, Afro-soul, and contemporary local genres. Despite pursuing solo projects, both artists have previously confirmed that Blaq Diamond continues to operate as a duo. The individual releases are intended to showcase their versatility and personal artistry, rather than signaling a split.
The new EP, Otherwise, uRight, arrives in the final quarter of the year and adds to a growing list of solo outputs by members of Blaq Diamond. The title suggests a conversational tone, possibly reflecting themes of personal experiences, introspection, or social commentary. Full track details, including the production credits and featured artists, have been made available through streaming platforms.
Among the featured artists, Mawelele and Nomfundoh Moh bring diverse vocal and stylistic elements to the project. Nomfundoh Moh is known for her soulful vocal delivery and has collaborated with various artists across the Afro-soul and R&B genres. Mawelele adds a fresh voice that complements the project’s direction.
Danya Devs’ solo efforts are part of a broader movement within the South African music industry, where group members explore individual sounds while maintaining their group identity. His latest release follows this trend, giving listeners an opportunity to hear his voice in a new light, outside the familiar Blaq Diamond harmonies.
With the arrival of his second EP, Danya Devs continues to build a parallel path in the music industry while remaining part of Blaq Diamond.
As of today, the EP is available for public streaming and download.
