Jay Jody on His Musical Connection with Manu WorldStar

Jay Jody recently discussed his musical relationship with Manu WorldStar and outlined the collaborative work the two artists are undertaking this year on a recent episode of The Element Podcast. Speaking during the interview, Jay Jody confirmed that the pair are currently developing a joint project.

He described the collaboration as “something concise, something straightforward, something musical,” highlighting that their connection is grounded in a shared understanding of how music should be created.

Jay Jody explained that the partnership is shaped by a mutual creative approach. He said, “The collaborative things that I’m doing this year is with Manu WorldStar, we actually working on a project together.” He continued by noting that the basis of the collaboration goes beyond convenience or strategy, emphasising the natural musical chemistry that exists between them. “Him and I really connect on how music should be made,” he said.

Expanding on that point, Jay Jody added, “That’s how we connect, the music, we have a certain approach to it which connects us for this project.” He confirmed that the work they are developing carries the title “The People Are Burning.” The title is anchored in the artistic direction they both share, with the project intended to present a unified sound shaped by their complementary creative perspectives.

Jay Jody and Manu WorldStar have collaborated before. Their previous joint release, a single titled Memories, was released few months ago. That track combined Jay Jody’s distinctively measured delivery with Manu WorldStar’s melodic style and demonstrated the compatibility between their musical approaches. The song marked one of the earliest indicators of the synergy that Jay Jody referenced during the podcast discussion.

Manu WorldStar has built a reputation for blending multiple genres, including Afro fusion, RnB, and contemporary urban influences. His ability to shift between melody driven compositions and rhythm focused structures has contributed to his commercial progress, including the success of his widely recognised single Nalingi. This background has positioned him as a versatile collaborator for artists working across different styles.

Jay Jody highlighted that the new collaboration between him and Manu WorldStar is intended to be more than a standard feature or a casual studio pairing. With the announcement of “The People Are Burning,” both artists appear to be preparing a project designed to reflect their shared vision and their aligned approach to music creation.
