The third edition of the Kwa Gogo Festival wrapped up on a celebratory high, cementing the event as a growing pillar in DBN Gogo’s cultural journey. What started as a deeply personal idea has, over the years, developed into a recurring gathering that draws together music lovers, creatives and collaborators in one shared space. With each edition, the festival has continued to mature, and this latest run reaffirmed its position as more than just a music event, but a community-driven experience shaped by sound and intention.
Shortly after the festival concluded, DBN Gogo took to Instagram to reflect on the milestone with heartfelt emotion. “Year 3 and I am still in utter disbelief that we are really throwing a festival! My heart is pumping custard and I am completely overwhelmed with the love and support you guys continue to show this little big baby of ours 🥹❤️.Thank you to each and every person that bought a ticket, that worked on site, that performed, that took up a minute of their day to spend it with us. We do not take it for granted and are ever so grateful ❤️. @kwa.gogo is for you all!” she shared. Her words captured both amazement and gratitude, highlighting how personal the festival remains even as it grows in scale and visibility.
Central to her message was appreciation for everyone who contributes to Kwa Gogo’s success. From supporters who purchased tickets and showed up early, to artists, staff and crew who ensured the event ran smoothly, DBN Gogo emphasised that the festival exists because of collective effort. Each role, whether on stage or behind the scenes, was acknowledged as part of the larger story that continues to unfold each year.
The festival’s evolution has also been supported by consistent backing from major brands. DBN Gogo expressed thanks to partners such as Nike, Play Energy Drink, Extreme Drink, Mentos South Africa, MTV Base South and Johnnie Walker Africa. Their involvement not only elevated the overall experience but also signalled growing confidence in the festival’s vision and long-term future.
Behind the scenes, a dedicated production and creative team played a vital role in bringing Kwa Gogo to life. DBN Gogo highlighted the importance of this close-knit support system, recognising the trust and shared understanding that has helped the festival return year after year. That sense of collaboration has been a defining feature since its early editions and remains central to its identity.
On stage, the third run delivered a lineup rooted in the pulse of contemporary Amapiano. Performances by artists including Scotts Maphuma, 2wo Bunnies, Ch’cco and Daliwonga kept energy levels high, offering a programme that balanced popular favourites with the wider culture surrounding the genre.
Curated by DBN Gogo herself, the Kwa Gogo Festival has now established a consistent presence over multiple years, with confirmed editions spanning late 2023, 2024 and the recent 2025 outing. This continuity reflects both audience loyalty and the festival’s steady growth.
As DBN Gogo continues to balance her international DJ career, Kwa Gogo stands as a clear extension of her vision. Closing her message with a hopeful glance toward the future, she hinted at another return, leaving supporters confident that the festival’s story is far from being over.
