I'm here for the African butter that is Itumeleng Modise, the leading lady that is. M.anifest does it all over again with his immaculate story telling through music and especially through the visual. Cav' the aesthetics in this video?
Let's break it down for you. This is really the story of an African woman; a home maker, a goddess and a proud beauty. We see M.anifest almost "linger" in her home as his beau goes about her day. She showers, cooks, exercises, naps and paints her nails - you know, all the things we African girls get up to every often. My favourite thing about this visual is the deeply African identity embedded in the story. From the kente she wears around her while chilling at home, the cooking, her afro and how her home looks just like many an African home (well, at least South African). The styling is next level, this afterall is M.anifest we're speaking of. MiCasa's appearance in the song is just perfect too with the instrumentation and flashes of them in the street as Itu walks down to meet her man. Where is this place? I'm seeing a lot of Jo'burg, am I tripping? Nonetheless, this is how our men should portray their love for us. This music video has a place in my heart.
