In case you've been wondering why you've seen rappers holding Sunlight bars on Instagram, Maftown Heights has partnered with Sunlight to offer one talented voice an incredible opportunity to feature at South Africa’s iconic Maftown Heights festival on 29 November 2024 at Mary Fitzgerald Square.
Through the Rap Your Bar with Sunlight competition, South Africa’s youth have the chance to showcase their lyrical prowess, celebrating the Sunlight Laundry Bar’s versatility and competing for a feature at the festival itself during the New Kidz On The Block segment.
Running on TikTok and Instagram, the Rap Your Bar with Sunlight competition is Sunlight’s invitation for South Africans aged 16-24 to bring their rhyming skills to life.
From now until 22 November 2024, contestants can submit their creative rap bars about Sunlight Laundry Bar, explaining how it brightens their daily life and joins in their journey with a unique rap. With a lineup of influencers such as Nadia Nakai, Loatinover Pounds and Qwellers helping to fuel the excitement, Sunlight is amplifying voices across the country by combining music, innovation, and culture.
The grand winner will walk away with R30,000 and an opportunity to showcase their winning video submission at Maftown Heights. This ultimate prize is an unmatched platform for young talent, giving one rising artist the chance to shine before thousands of fans, share their story, and become part of South Africa’s Hip-Hop legacy.
