PatricKxxLee, KindlyNxsh & BabyDaiz Announce ‘NO VISA TOUR’ Stops

By @SeptemberEleven on 10/04/2024 in Music

After dropping a collaborative tape ‘NO VISA EP’, PatricKxxLee, KindlyNxsh, and BabyDaiz have announced their NO VISA Tour. Instead of announcing dates when all is said and done, the trio put the tour into the hands of their fans by letting them request the artists to cities around Gauteng.

“We wanted to give our fans a chance to bring the tour to their community, and it’s been amazing to see how they came together to make the shows happen,” says PatricKxxLee.

The three artists ran a Request on TOORLY, a fan-driven global touring platform, to determine the tour stops.

“We asked our fans where they want to see us, and told them that we’d pull up to any city that has at least 150 requests.”, adds KindlyNxsh.

After three weeks and the participation of two thousand fans, seven cities emerged successful - with The Vaal and Joburg South topping the list.

“We thought we’d end up with maybe three tour stops, and now we’re going on a seven-city tour… it’s wild”, states BabyDaiz.

To hype the tour, the trio went on a series of Flash Mobs with the Red Bull truck, sending fans in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Soshanguve, and the Vaal into a frenzy whenever they popped up.

“Getting their fans involved in planning this tour is a pioneering move, and I hope it encourages more artists to do the same”, says Fuego, a supporter of the artists.

With most artist shows concentrated in Joburg, Cape Town and Durban, smaller cities are usually left out of the action. One of those underserved places is Soshanguve, home to around 60 000 students. When the Request was almost ending and Sosha was nowhere close to the required 150 minimum, NO VISA Tour Reps Slim Flame and D’Angelo stepped up and went door to door on campus, and managed to get the city to cross the threshold just hours before the deadline. “Having the NO VISA Tour here is putting Sosha on the map. This is bigger than us”, states Slim Flame.

With the tour set to start in October, lucky fans in The Vaal, Johannesburg South, Soweto, Pretoria, Soshanguve, Braamfontein, and Germiston are counting days, while other artists are already lining up to run their Requests for their upcoming tours. Artists signed up to TOORLY so far include Maglera Doe Boy, Sjava, LucasRaps, The Qwellers, and even globally recognized rapper Nasty C, whose fans have been actively requesting him in Europe, North America, Asia, and across the continent for his upcoming Ivyson tour over the past month.

Tickets for the tour are going on sale today - Friday, September 27 on Howler. Anyone who participated in the Request has access to discounted tickets until October 16 11:59pm.
