In the interview below, Dee Koala details the creation of ‘Iskhath' Sam Manje (Jik’izinto)’:

How did the song come about? 

Well, the concept of the campaign made it a bit easier to write to it. The concept was there but the important part was making it relatable.

How did you approach writing to an amapiano beat? 

I’ve worked on different genres before but yes it was some kind of challenge but I work well under pressure and with the people I was with made the process a lot easier.

Should we expect more amapiano songs from you? 

I don’t know about that, maybe working on other people’s songs, I think I’m more comfortable in that way. 

What was the process of working with so many artists in one song?

It was chilled really, we were all vibing to the beat and helping each other creatively, we really worked as a team.
