Soweto-bred Amapiano hitmaker, Mashudu has dropped a new single titled ‘Ngempela’ featuring Shakes & Les, Kabza De Small, and Murumba Pitch.
The single is set to be housed on her upcoming EP.
The EP is said to explore different types of love including romantic love, friendship, family, love for music and love for religion.
The song ‘Ngempela’ alongside Murumba Pitch on vocals, is about a promise kept by two people who always wished to travel the world together. Mashudu tells a love story about a guy who has finally saved enough money to take his girl around the world, A promise that was made and now kept.
The song encompasses different types of emotions; drive, happiness, excitement and hope. These themes all showcase real life experiences that Mashudu has journeyed in.
“This EP means a lot to me, it’s an expression of my music. People know that I love love songs, it’s an EP that represents what I live through everyday.”, stated Mashudu.
Mashudu fuses invigorating amapiano rhythms with afro-soul for a sound that is full and robust.
“Working with Shakes & Les has been one of my greatest adventures yet. I understand their sound and they understand my vocals so it’s been easy to work with them. The creative space on the day that we recorded was epic because I was anxious at first but, Les was so kind and patient with me and I found my rhythm easily after that!” - Mashudu.
