Nomfundo Moh is currently promoting her new album ‘Twenty Four’ which is named after her age.
We asked her what she thinks she will be doing at the inverse of her age, 42:
“At 42, I see myself traveling the world. I see myself with only two children. I see myself as a businesswoman with multiple businesses and doing music just to make sure my presence is still felt. I see myself nurturing young emerging talent. Just living my life and having fun.”
The inspiration behind her song ‘Gama Lakhe’
“The inspiration is being from the rural areas where fathers and grandfathers are referred as obaba or their clan names. You don’t find a woman calling a man by their name as a way to show respect to their partners. I did talk about ‘Phakade Lam’ before, then I followed with ‘Umuntu Wam’ so I’m saying umuntu wakho, you can call them using different names.”
Things to try at 24:
- “Searching for a better life which is soft life that I spoke about [on my song ‘Soft Life’]."
- "Try to impress abazali bakho ukuze ‘bavuye’ ngawe."
- "Try to live your life; be you, uziphathe kahle ungazikhohlwa."
