Sizwe Alakine is dropping a new single from his upcoming album. The song, titled ‘Where Is Reason?’, features… Reason. Confusing, right?
In an upcoming episode of our ‘What A Life’ podcast, we asked Sizwe Alakine to break down the difference between Reason and Sizwe Alakine.
“It was a crazy idea that manifested into conversations like this, like what if I was two different people at the same time?
“Initially, I just wanted to say Sizwe because this time I wanna be me. I wanna go back to Sizwe. Reason was a character I created in the space or environment of Hip-Hop and he fulfilled all his duties in that community.
“Sizwe feels more like myself as a person; just like, the other guy. The guy who, unlike Hip-Hop, can say, ‘ngiyahlupheka.’ The guy who, unlike Reason, can say… ever since met the log drum noMadumane, ngeke ning’bone. Sengifana noDoc Shebeleza, uzong’thol’ ebumnandini. Reason would never say that, but if you know me, you know….”
Look out for our sit down with Sizwe Alakine for ‘What A Life’ in the next few weeks.
