Emerging artist and producer, Wakithi has released a new EP titled ‘Healing...’.
The 7-track oeuvre features R&B songstress, Keeme, and a list of talented producers.
When speaking on the project, Wakithi describes the significance behind its title, as well as its creation process.
“Healing is a continuous journey. It needs you to align your mind and soul. One cannot function without the other.”, he shares. “Whilst recording the EP, I was healing from a number of things, even the things I was unaware of. Everything that was mentioned in the music happened, every emotion invoked on the listener was felt. I let it all out in the music. I was healed by it, and It remains my healing mechanism today”.
Wakithi wears his heart on his sleeve throughout this body of work. The music provides a profound insight into the extent of the creativity Wakithi possesses as a writer, the intention behind the use of sounds, sonics, and most importantly, the use of his home language, isiZulu.
