New Age Kwaito star, Mac 11 has dropped a new single titled ‘K’sukela Kdala’ featuring Dando RSA, Okmalumkoolkat, and Lord Script. Produced by Tom Nqo, the single is also accompanied by captivating visuals.
The snarling posse cut serves as a lead single off of Mac 11’s upcoming compilation titled ‘Savage Street Sessions Vol. 1’. Loosely translating to “since way back when”, the track sees the quartet trade gritty, quotable verses celebrating their tenure as respected figures in Durban’s underbelly.
“Sirolla ihlahla suMandela”, spits Mac 11 on the track’s chant-worthy hooks. ‘K’sukela Kdala’ matches that lyrical realness with visuals just as unvarnished. Shot and directed by Tiny Films, the video shifts between scenes of the rappers posted up in a white studio apartment and an industrial junkyard, creating a compelling contrast from rags to riches. It amounts to a raw showcase of Durban’s Hip-Hop culture — the struggles, the hustle, the code of the streets all manifested.
