By @AtlehangMoloi on 03/07/2024 in News

Last night, the Riky Rick Foundation raised R680K in Johannesburg at an exclusive networking event and fundraiser hosted by Pearl Thusi, in collaboration with leading influencer marketing platform, Humanz.

The Riky Rick Foundation and Humanz partnered up with renowned artist Samurai Farai, and crafted a limited edition pair of sneakers exclusively for auction at the event.

The event saw esteemed guests bid in person, as well as online. 100% of the proceeds from the auction are directed towards supporting the Riky Rick Foundation in its vital mission.

Attendees included family and friends of the late Riky Rick, Influencers and A-list celebrities including Kwesta, Robot Boii, Lasizwe, Slikour, Thabsie and Moozlie.

Humanz raised R680,000 in just two weeks in bids and pledges.

"As one of the large players in influencer marketing, Humanz recognises the importance of drawing attention to the issue of mental health in our industry," said Pierre Cassuto, CMO of Humanz. "This partnership with the Riky Rick Foundation underscores our commitment to giving creators the platforms and resources they need for long-term success, while prioritising their mental well-being.”

The mission of this initiative is twofold: to raise awareness about mental health issues within the influencer marketing community and to provide tangible support through fundraising efforts. By fostering a culture of collaboration, support and long-term win-win relationships with brands.

Humanz aims to empower creators with the tools and knowledge necessary to build sustainable careers and not compromise their mental health.

“Just short of a year since the Foundations launch, we are so thrilled and grateful for the support Humanz & Samurai Farai has shown us through this generous and creatively inspired initiative. It truly speaks to the ethos of the Riky Rick Foundation for the Promotion of Artivism which is inspired by the arts and its catalyzing effects on mental well-being. This will go a long way in our efforts to solve the mental wellness question through Artivis” said Bianca Naidoo, partner of the late Riky Rick and stakeholder at the Riky Rick Foundation.

For creators who work independently, having access to the right tools and platforms is essential for maintaining their well-being. Through initiatives like these, Humanz strives to put the human element back into influencer marketing, ensuring that creators feel supported and valued in their work.
