Inkabi Zezwe And Hollywood Foundation Deliver School Essentials To Myendane Primary School

By @MasechabaKganyapa on 02/14/2024 in News

Today, Inkabi Zezwe in collaboration with the Hollywood Foundation, extended their philanthropic efforts to Bergville by donating school shoes and essential stationery to Myendane Primary School.

This initiative is part of a broader campaign dedicated to providing necessary school supplies to schools throughout the country.

Inkabi Zezwe, delivering back-to-school supplies to learners, highlighted the challenges faced by children growing up in rural areas.

“Today was a great day, we are here to give out stationery and school shoes — which is a pervasive problem among kids back in my community where we are also from,” said Sjava on the day.

Mrs. Simangele Makhaza, Principal of Myendane Primary School, emphasised the need for support in rural areas where educational facilities are often lacking.

"We are grateful for Inkabi Zezwe and the Hollywood Foundation’s contribution, particularly for our children coming from disadvantaged communities marked by high unemployment rates."

Representing the Hollywood Foundation, Vuyisile Ngobese articulated, "We believe this initiative will significantly impact the daily schooling experiences of these learners, many of whom attend school without proper shoes or stationery."

In conjunction with their commitment to community welfare, this charitable endeavour coincides with the release of Inkabi Zezwe's latest single, ‘Khaya lami,’ from their album, 'Ukhamba.' In the song,  the duo reflect on the profound notion of appreciating one’s roots, reinforcing the importance of that home and the special place it will always hold in our hearts.

Sakhile Ntshangase, from Warner Music Africa, Inkabi Zezwe's record label and campaign coordinator, underscored the importance of inspiration in children's lives. "It is important for young kids to see successful artists who grew up in the same circumstances as them and be inspired. We hope they look up to Inkabi Zezwe and see how much more the world has for them beyond their physical circumstances.

The day was marked by spirited performances from the students, heartfelt speeches from parents and teachers, and joyful celebrations
