Venda rapper and songwriter, Mizo Phyll has dropped his latest project tagged, ‘Venda Nga December’ which plans to still serve as a heritage, arts & culture celebratory experience that was set to be on its 9th annual run in 2023.
This EP depicts and portrays what this event entails, together with the lyricism versatility from Mizo Phyll, each and every song expresses itself in its own respective approach and also takes you on a journey of the event itself. All produced by the heavy production house Soundslucid.
As a prelude and part of the roll out plan for the Venda Nga December 2023 event, Mizo Phyll decided on a different approach by releasing an EP for the fans and new attendees as they prepare on attending the 9th annual event, which took place on the 30th of December at Marshal Resort.
The project consists of four tracks, in its minimal range, it was curated to cover all areas and genre specifications. From the first track 'A thi nga do faila' which features Thidziambi Da Poet who starts off with a symphony poem directly dedicated to Mizo as it fades to the actual track itself.
Skipping through to the second track 'Oya Nalo' you can hear the rhythmic sound graph as it starts to go up, to 'A la Maduvha' the third track where Mizo reminisces on the olden days of the “come up“ era and in the outro you exit the project in an unexpected up-tempo trap hit song known as 'Lidenya' which is the fans first pick since the release.
