Zoocci Coke Dope has just commemorated his birthday by releasing the fifth installation of his ‘Current State Of Mind’ series.
This follows his latest release in February titled, ‘Walking On Water’ with Audiomarc and Blxckie, and his last album 'ANXIETY'.
Co-produced by Zwayetoven, ‘Current State Of Mind V’ is a soulful Hip-Hop track that has Zoocci Coke Dope addressing recent known and unknown fallbacks that he opened about, particularly in the industry. This is in reference to the challenges he faced back in 2022 with his now-former STAY LOW record label at the time.
The artwork and the narration in the song makes reference to black face and the ill-treatment of black artists in the US. With an impressive play on words, storytelling and statement to those who did him dirty.
With lyrics, “You have to understand the castration of the black man’s ego by the white power structure..” that emphasises on the psychological impact that white power had and still has on him as a black man seeing that they lied and did him wrong.
Zoocci explains in his song that he has been doing some soul searching with what had happened to him and finally got the strength to speak out.
He alleges his record label went behind his back and forged his signature on a contract that he didn’t know about. “You’ve got individuals who could steal your publishing with pieces of paper,” he says.
“I’m so mad I can’t think, eyes wide open, I can’t blink sign my name with no ink, my name too big it can’t shrink,” Zoocci raps.
