DJ Tshegu’s Hit Single Alongside Focalistic ’Tiya Mfana’s Visuals Reach A Million Views

Female DJ and dancer, DJ Tshegu’s summer single with, Focalistic and Sims Noreng’s ‘Tiya Mfana’’s visuals reach a million views on Youtube.

Bloemfontein born female DJ and producer, DJ Tshegu recently shot to fame after the release of her Amapiano tribute, ‘Mzokwana’, a hit single that was co-produced by her and Sims Noreng.

Following the success of her debut single, the rising star, teamed up with lyricist and the president of the streets, Focalistic to create a communion titled, Tiya Mfana a remix of Mzokwane and a heartfelt music video to celebrate her big single.

Tiya Mfana is a prayer which carries the profound message about perseverance and emphasizes the importance of staying in one's lane. On this track, Focalistic utilizes his skilful play of words to paint a story about the effects of celebrating other’s success as your own. He borrows from his own personal experiences and highlights the pressures from his peers and how poisonous not watering his own grass almost cost him the things that mean the most, like his passion and love for local music. 

To solidify their union and new summer anthem, Focalistic drove down to Bloemfontein to celebrate the fallen but never forgotten roots and flare that was Bloemfontein Celtics and shot a music video with DJ Tshegu alongside her childhood friends and the community of Mangaung.

“Making Mzokwana and seeing it blow up, was a blessing.  But having Focalistic on the remake just took everything to the top, hence it was very important for us to go back to Bloem and shoot a video that would show the world my back story.” explained Tshegu.

The Tiya Mfana music video is currently sitting on 1 million views and its trending at #18 on Youtube.

Born Tshegofatso Petlhu, the talented artists career began over a decade ago when an opportunity to DJ presented its self, after her father fell ill at a wedding in Lesotho and she was left to stand in for him and help him entertain the crowd.

 “My dad is not just my inspiration, so many of us were built by him and his love for music. It feels sooo good that we with Tiya Mfana were able to create a song that people from back home could relate to and take pride in” DJ Tshegu explained.
