Naledi Aphiwe Bags More Than R50K For Her Sample On Chris Brown Song ‘Shooter’

Naledi Aphiwe reportedly bagged $3000 (approximately R56 000) for her appearance on Chris Brown’s new album ‘11:11’ on the song ‘Shooter’, reports TshisaLIVE.

The 17-year-old KZN singer’s career has received a huge boost since the song’s release, from trending on social media to doing radio interviews back to back over the past week.

The song comes after Chris Brown praised Naledi Aphiwe's incredible voice in an Instagram story in October 2022. This was from a video of her singing a rather sorrowful song from the perspective of a young girl who’s being sexually abused by her father.

“I was in my classroom during examinations but that day we were not doing anything. We were bored. We decided to sing and our class teacher came inside. We were scared he would shout so when he entered we kept quiet but he told us to carry on. When we sang he took his phone and made a clip. If it was not for my teacher I wouldn't be able to fulfil my dreams,” Naledi Aphiwe told TshisaLIVE.

“Chris Brown did what I would have never done. There are many people who are talented outside and he chose a child from a small city like mine. I appreciate him so much. People who didn't know anything about Naledi Aphiwe today know her. It has changed my home situation. Everything is good now,” she told TshisaLIVE.

But there’s more to Naledi Aphiwe than the viral clip that Chris Brown sampled. ‘Uyangijabulisa’, an Afro-Pop single she released alongside Nomfundo Moh and Fezeka Dlamini is approaching 700K views on YouTube.

Including her most recent single with Fezeka Dlamini titled, 'ZOJIKI IZINTO'.

Her wishlist of collaborators includes Lwah Ndlunkulu, Blaq Diamond, Cici, Qwabe Twins and Sbahle.
