Maftown-bred trio, HashOne have unveiled visuals for their latest single, ‘Pay Day’.
‘Pay Day’ is a thought-provoking track that addresses societal issues and explores life post-pandemic in South Africa while instilling a message of maintaining a positive mindset despite financial hardships.
HashOne, composed of Nasi TauTona, Mix Wa Le Ninja, and Sun G Wa Lefika, crafted ‘Pay Day’ by drawing inspiration from their 2019 #PayDayFreestyles, where each member delivered a captivating verse over Kota The Friend’s ‘Pomegranate’ instrumental.
The monochromatic visuals shot in Newtown Johannesburg evoke the feeling of nostalgia while presenting a gritty and raw narrative. The visuals focus on capturing the essence of urban life in a compelling and authentic manner.
The single serves as a prelude to their forthcoming studio album which is set to drop later this year.
The trio has consistently pushed the boundaries of Motswako music, combining lyrical prowess with social commentary, and this new single exemplifies their dedication to evolving their craft.
