Last week, Major League DJz, Yumbs and Elaine hosted a media junket in partnership with Warner Music Africa to talk about their latest collaborative single ‘All Night Long’.
The artists delved into the creation and narrative behind the single which was released on August 18.
“Considering that we know each other personally, so we understood what kind of approach we wanted to take for the song and how far we want to go,” Yumbs said.
Despite being recorded in Los Angeles, the song evokes the vibrant nightlife of Johannesburg.
Elaine, discussing her role and the song's significance, stated: "I think Amapiano is already a global sound and it depends on what contribution you want from my side and the Major League DJz approached me because I have a market that caters to international listeners, it’s R&B, it’s in English and it simply works."
The twins added:
“My brother and I have been working on an international sound and we probably going to be focusing on that for a very long time because we are in an international space where people don’t speak vernac to us so we need to find a way to connect to them.
“Amapiano is already a sound that accommodates them so why don’t we push that and reach a wider audience.”
