It seems another joint South African Hip-Hop album is upon us. The fans called it. After working closely in the last few months, Ginger Trill and Touchline are finally dropping a joint project. Touchline shared in an Instagram post that he’s looking at finishing the project this week.
The first song in which the two lyricists were heard together was ‘TONY’S SCAR’ from DJ Clen’s ‘V I R A L’ album which dropped in July. ‘TONY’S SCAR’ was highlighted by DJ Clen with a music video that shows Ginger Trill and Touchline flanked by the likes of Jay Jody, King Sweetkid and Blaklez. The monochrome colour scheme gives the visuals that street grit, fitting of the bar-heavy track.
The great response to ‘TONY’S SCAR’ after the release of ‘V I R A L’ led to Ginger Trill and Touchline hitting the stu together a week later.
The result was the single ‘Amen’ which also featured vocalist Mandy ZA which dropped a week after ‘V I R A L’. Less than a week later, the rappers followed up the song with a visualiser.
It is evident that Touchline and Ginger Trill together are a force to be reckoned with. Their expression and wordplay-driven styles complement each other and they are two of the most potent lyricists we have in Southy at the moment. If the two songs they’ve dropped are anything to go by, then their joint project will be one for the books.
Keep your eyes glued to SlikourOnLife for updates on the project.
