Sykes Releases Clean Version Of His Hit Single, ‘Sisekakeni Babies’ To 'Sisestyleni Babies'

South Africa’s latest breakout star Sykes releases new version of hit single, ‘Sisekakeni Babies’ titled, 'Sisestyleni Babies' with contributions from Skillz and RudeBoyz.

In just under two months, Sykes has seen his song ‘Sisekakeni Babies’ go from being just a viral TikTok sound to exploding into a huge and inescapable summer smash hit single.

Since its release in late June, the song has become an instant sensation across SA and has totalled a whopping three million streams across all digital streaming platforms.

Now, following some difficulties with getting radio stations to give the song its due exposure because of its explicit title, the South African singer-songwriter has released a more radio-friendly version of the single, which he’s titled, 'Sisestyleni Babies'.

“It’s so funny because basically everyone initially took it as meaning that everyone is in trouble when this kid drops. But all I meant is the ladies are in trouble because we’re about to go on a trip, we’re about to spend money, all those luxurious things.“ explained Sykes

Over the two months alone, Sykes’ TikTok following has shot up from 500 followers to over 47 000. The song has also been added to several major playlists on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.

“Sisestyleni Babies” was released in partnership with Grammy Award winner Nomcebo Zikode’s record label, Emazulwini Productions. Nomcebo explained, “I knew from the first time I heard him that Sykes was a special talent m, so I’m not surprised by how huge his first song with us has become.” 

“The song is already doing so well but I think this new version will allow us to penetrate even further. I can’t wait to see how far it can go and bring to life some of the other incredible things we’ve got planned for him soon.”
