By @MasechabaKganyapa on 08/21/2023 in Projects You Should Hear

Julian Vogue, the rising star from the East Rand, released his project 'Keep Your Head Above Water' on August 18.

The Hip Hop album features vocals from the soulful Amy, as well as a striking rap verse by the dynamic Kayson Woods. The production credits include Julian Vogue himself, alongside the skilled Mphathi Mrubata, Kiro, and Morphine.

'Keep Your Head Above Water' (KYHAW) is an exploration of raw emotions, showcasing Julian Vogue's ability to channel pain, anxiety, and the challenges of growth into an art form. Through ten meticulously crafted tracks, listeners are taken on a journey that encapsulates the struggles of a young man navigating the path to adulthood.

Julian's frustration, adjustment, and self-discovery are palpable in every note, exemplified by songs like 'Stressed' and 'Peace Of Mind.' The album's standout track, 'Empty,' beautifully captures the notion of dancing through the pain , with a groovy production while singing "he is empty and needs his cup to be filled."

In Julian's own words, "I created this project as a reminder to myself to Keep My Head Above Water regardless of the realities I'm faced with."
