Uncle Waffles Drops New Project, 'Solace'

By @AtlehangMoloi on 08/11/2023 in Projects You Should Hear

Earlier this month, Uncle Waffles announced that she will be following up the first instalment (Asylum) of her double-sided project with a second part titled 'Solace'. 'Asylum' and 'Solace' make up her full-length body of work titled, 'An Asylum Of Solace'.

Uncle Waffles describes ‘An Asylum Of Solace’ as “a curated version of her musical journey.”

Today, the Eswatini-born superstar DJ unveiled the second instalment to her double-sided project, 'Solace'. 'Solace' is made up of 7 tracks and includes contributions from Manana, Lusanda, MaWhoo, Murumba Pitch and Sino Msolo amongst others.

With 'Solace', Uncle Waffles leans more into "private school Amapiano" which comprises more soulful and heavily vocalised songs in comparison to 'Asylum' which consists of up-tempo Amapiano.

“Solace is a representation of the grace that followed me and gave me so much peace and happiness. “A mirror into how beautiful this journey continues to be, the blessings within this journey.”

Last week, Uncle Waffles released the first single off of 'Solace' titled ‘Echoes’, which was shortly accompanied with a visualiser thereafter. ‘Echoes’ includes contributions from Tony Duardo, Manana and Lusanda.
